World leading educators take to the stage in Wolverhampton

The University of Wolverhampton is hosting an event which explores how educators can create a powerful learning environment.
In the only presentation of its kind in the UK, the ‘Asking Better Questions’ Research into Learning and Teaching Symposium is a free event presented by Juliana Saxton and Carole Miller, internationally recognised master teachers and keynote speakers from Canada.
Their studies focus on inquiry-based instruction, applied theatre and drama and the implications of brain research in the development of learners.
Ross Prior, Professor of Teaching and Learning in the Arts in Higher Education, said: “We were delighted to secure two of the world’s leading educators for an event which will really open up some dialogue to improve teaching and learning – setting developments in context of the changing world, allowing attendees to explore new ideas and perspectives as well as reflecting on practice and looking at the possibilities for change.”
The Symposium will take place on Wednesday 3rd May from 10.15 am until 3.30 pm at the Arena Theatre, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1SE.
Juliana Saxton and Carole Millerare professors at the University of Victoria in Canada and hold honorary appointments in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney, Australia. Each is the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award Juliana Saxton with the late Norah Morgan wrote Asking Better Questions that explores the role of questions in creating powerful learning environments. Saxton and Miller are now preparing a third edition.
This event is hosted by the Arts Learning & Teaching Research (ALTR) Group and is an initiative supported by the College of Learning & Teaching and Faculty of Arts.
