Enjoy Wolverhampton engineering event for all the family

A free event celebrating Wolverhampton’s rich engineering past - and its bright future - is being held at Bantock House Museum and Park as part of this month’s Enjoy Wolverhampton programme.

The historic house and park, off Finchfield Road, is hosting the Discover Engineering Family Day on Saturday, July 9, from 10am to 4pm.

Check out live experiments, vintage cars, have a go on the miniature railway and see steam engines, armed forces vehicles, a JCB, as well as the University of Wolverhampton’s Formula 3 racing car.

It’s a great day out for families and engineering enthusiasts.

Paul Sanders, vintage car and steam engine enthusiast, is supporting the City of Wolverhampton Council event.  He said: “The event offers a great range of vehicles to enjoy. It is a great mix of past and future - all linked to engineering.

“Engineering is so important to this city. Its past was built on it and its future is being reignited by it.”

If that has whetted your appetite, Enjoy Wolverhampton has a Grand Prix experience on offer in the city centre’s Queen Square on Wednesday, July 6, from 10am to 4pm.

University of Wolverhampton’s Formula 3 racing car will take centre stage, with visitors able to take a closer look and meet the team.

If a career in engineering interests you, why not go along and ask about the courses on offer at the university to help you develop the skills, knowledge and high standards needed to make it in an industry such as professional motor racing.
