New Head of Research Services appointed

15/12/2016

The University of Wolverhampton has appointed a new Head of Research Services.

Clare McCauley is currently the interim University Secretary at Wolverhampton, and will begin her new role in January.

The post will be based in the Research Policy Unit, and Clare will work alongside the Dean of Research and colleagues.

Clare said: “I’m very excited to be taking up the new role of Head of Research Services at the University.  Since starting at Wolverhampton, I’ve been impressed by the breadth of its research and of its ambition; and of its impact and influence.  The University has fantastic areas of research strength and a growing research community and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to play a part in supporting its continued success.”

Dr Chris Twine, Academic Registrar, said: “Clare’s wide-ranging experience in academic operations, research policy, and supporting postgraduate research students, makes her an ideal candidate to take forward our research support activities at the University of Wolverhampton.”

Before joining the University of Wolverhampton, Clare was Director of Operations at the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Birmingham, responsible for managing significant research grants and contracts.

She has served in several senior roles in the Registry department there, including Assistant Director for Policy, Graduate School Manager and Head of Student Records (Research), as well as Principal Officer at the UK Council for Graduate Education.
