Hundreds build success at engineering fair
The first City of Wolverhampton Engineering Fair was held at the University on Friday (January 31) and the event allowed visitors to see the opportunities open to them throughout the industry.
Some of the Black Country’s leading engineering employers used the fair to showcase opportunities and to raise aspirations of young people in the Wolverhampton area.
Visitors were able to find out about careers in engineering, meet face-to-face with potential employers, learn about vacancies, apprenticeships and training opportunities, and apply for University and College courses.
In all, more than 25 organisations including blue chip companies Jaguar Land Rover, HS Marston Aerospace, Carillion and Eaton exhibited at the fair
The fair was organised as a partnership between the University, Wolverhampton City Council and City of Wolverhampton College.
Krystyna Nosek, Head of the University’s Work Placement Team, said: “The Fair provides a great opportunity for the Council, the College and the University to work in partnership and engage leading employers in a project aimed at helping young people from the Wolverhampton area to secure a brighter future.”
