Health chief to present free public lecture

A leading figure in the West Midlands health service will visit the University of Wolverhampton to present a free public lecture.Elisabeth Buggins

Elisabeth Buggins CBE is Chair of Birmingham Women’s Hospital Foundation Trust and former Chair of the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority.

She will present her inaugural lecture, titled ‘Leading for Quality’, on Wednesday, 25 January 2012 in the Lecture Theatre in the MH Building at the Wolverhampton City Campus.

The event, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, is part of the School of Health and Wellbeing’s new public lecture series.

Professor Linda Lang, Dean of the School of Health and Wellbeing, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Elisabeth Buggins back to the University for her lecture. Her subject of leading for quality is an important issue for all health and social care practitioners and will provide interesting insights for our staff, students and guests.”

Elisabeth received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from the University of Wolverhampton in September 2010 in recognition of her considerable contribution to healthcare.

Light refreshments will be available after the lecture. This free public lecture is open to all staff, students and external partners.
