Open evening to help boost career prospects

15/11/2011

The new Performance Hub at the Walsall Campus will play host to the Postgraduate Open Evening on Tuesday, 22 November 2011.

Experts from each of the Academic Schools will be on hand to offer advice about postgraduate taught programmes and research opportunities from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Helen Robinson, Postgraduate Marketing Manager, said: “It is an exciting time in our postgraduate community – we have recently launched a new portfolio of postgraduate-taught programmes. Our courses are informed by world-class research and are designed to meet the needs of today’s employers.

“At the Open Evening we will have a team of experts from each Academic School ready to provide more information about subjects, current students to give a flavour of what life is like at Wolverhampton, and a series of subject-specific presentations taking place.”

From 5.30pm there will be a drinks reception to celebrate the opening of the Performance Hub, the University’s iconic multi-million pound performing arts centre. The building houses new teaching, rehearsal and performance spaces for School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure students.

A group of postgraduate students have been blogging about their experiences at the University of Wolverhampton. The students talk about how they have juggled work, family and their studies and the blogs can be viewed at www.wlv.ac.uk/blogs
