Results day advice on offer

12/08/2011

The University will be running online lunchtime Clearing Clinics from Monday (15 August 2011) between 12pm and 2pm to help those entering the Clearing process.

Students will be able to log on for advice and support from 9am until 5pm from results day (Thursday, 18 August 2011) onwards.

The Clinic will deal with 1-2-1 chats with applicants who cannot get through on the phones lines due to the volume of calls and are concerned they have not yet received confirmation emails or status updates on UCAS.

The Clearing Clinic team will work closely with Admissions to ensure applicants receive updates in the chat rooms on how their individual application is progressing. The team also follows through the support beyond initial Clearing information, helping them with queries regarding accommodation and financial support.

Paul Travill, Academic Registrar, said: “Our top tip is to be prepared – our Clearing Clinic opens before A-level results day so applicants can get help and advice before the rush. We will have staff staffing the phones and dealing with queries as quickly as possible from Thursday 18 August. Our advice is to make use of the online resources at www.wlv.ac.uk/clearing and to keep checking – we expect some places will become available on the following Monday or Tuesday, and we will show these in our real-time vacancies listing.”

The University will hold an Open Day on Saturday, 20 August 2011 from 10am until 3pm at its Wolverhampton and Walsall Campuses.

The Clearing hotline is 0800 953 3222*

The Clearing Clinic can be accessed at www.wlv.ac.uk/clearing

*If you are calling from a mobile phone you may incur a charge. The charge will vary depending on your network provider.
