Burton to host nursing recruitment event

12/04/2011

Lecturers and senior student nurses from the School of Health and Wellbeing will be presenting a stand near the escalators in the Octagon Shopping Centre in Burton town centre on Saturday, 16 April 2011.

The stand will be open from 10am-3pm and the aim is to promote courses at the University, particularly nursing at Burton, and also provide information about the University’s Learning Education and Progression (LEAP) course. The LEAP course is designed to help candidates whose qualifications do not currently meet the entry criteria for courses, to progress their learning to higher education standard.

Georgina Wood, Senior Lecturer and Event coordinator, said: “Individuals who have a strong interest in helping to promote the health and wellbeing of others are warmly invited to come along and have a friendly chat with staff and students to find out how they can channel their interests into a health and social career that suits them.”

The University of Wolverhampton and Burton Centre are rising to the challenge of future health care, by ensuring that they provide stimulating courses that produce lively individuals who are confident in their ability to meet the health challenges of the future.
