Official Recognition for University Catering Services

08/03/2010

The team has received Hospitality Assured Accreditation, the formal standard for Service and Business Excellence.

Emma Furnival, Assistant Director Hospitality & Accommodation Services, said: “We are delighted that the hard work and dedication of our Catering team has been recognised.

“We aim to put the University on the map by providing students, staff and visitors with a standard of service and business excellence that will exceed expectations.”

A formal presentation will be made by the University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Caroline Gipps in the Hospitality Suite in Millennium City Building at 8.45am on March 10.

To mark its success, the University is offering tea and coffee from the refectory table top machines for 50p on Wednesday only to enable students and visitors to join in the celebration of this achievement.

There are 10 steps to gaining the standard including customer research, business planning, resources, training and delivery and standards of performance.

Accreditation is achieved by external assessment. It is an ongoing process so the University will continually work towards improving its services and keeping the standard.

Catering is part of the University’s Hospitality and Accommodation Services under Estates and Facilities.

The standard will be promoted throughout all University of Wolverhampton outlets.
