Students celebrate success in Hong Kong

The event saw 130 students graduate from City University Hong Kong's School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE) and the University of Wolverhampton.

The Wei Hing Theatre was full of proud parents, guardians and friends, celebrating the achievements of students graduating from a range of programmes such as Business and Management, Construction Management, International Corporate and Finance Law.

The procession was led by University of Wolverhampton Vice-Chancellor Professor Caroline Gipps, Dr Charles Wong Director of SCOPE, Mr Henry Tang, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association and Jo Gittens, Director of the International Centre for the University of Wolverhampton.

Eric Chan Chi Lap, who graduated with a BSc (Hons) Construction Management, said:"It was a really proud day for me. I was pleased to see the Vice-Chancellor and have the opportunity to meet her. The degree will go some way in helping my career, I am sure of that, and I hope to stay in touch with the University."

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Caroline Gipps said: "Graduation is always a time of celebration for students and their families and our 2009 graduates have a lot to be proud of.

“We have a strong relationship with City University Hong Kong's, School of Continuing and Professional Education and it gives me great pleasure to celebrate our student's achievements."

The University has had a strong partnership with SCOPE for over ten years, and next year will see the partnership grow by introducing BA (Hons) in Business and Law into SCOPE's portfolio of programmes.

The ceremony, which took place on Sunday, concluded with a special Graduation Dinner hosted by the Vice-Chancellor for graduates and alumni of the University.
