Focus on pharmacy

04/11/2009

Professor of Pharmacy Education, Rae Morgan, will present the first in a new series of public lectures at the University on Wednesday, 11 November 2009.

The lecture, titled Pharmacy: Past, Present and ??, will take place in the Millennium City Building at City Campus at 6pm.

Professor Morgan said: “The profession of pharmacy has a long history, stretching back almost 5000 years. However, changes in the way healthcare is delivered in the UK have necessitated sweeping changes in the nature and practice of pharmacy.

“In my lecture, I will give an overview of the historical development of pharmacy, a review of its current status and suggest how the profession may develop in the future.”

Professor Morgan joined the University in 2008 as Head of Pharmacy. He became a Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain in 1977 and has been a practicing pharmacist since then.
