Professor Perchard takes us on an historical journey to explore what history can offer to the study of work, organisations and the place of business in society. Drawing on examples from his published work and ongoing research projects, interspersed with passages from his own work biography, he explores historical methods and perspective and disciplinary intersections.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER Andrew Perchard is Professor of the History of Business and Work and Head of the Management Research Centre at the University of Wolverhampton Business School (UWBS). He joined UWBS from the University of Stirling Management School in April 2019, having previously held posts at the Centre for Business in Society, Coventry University, at the University of Strathclyde Business School, and the University of the Highlands and Islands. Prior to his academic career, he was Head of Energy Supply Policy for the Scottish Government and worked for a number of private companies.
