Using workshops in Wolverhampton School of Art
The term 'face to face' teaching includes working in the same room with teaching staff, technicians and personal tutors. This situation creates specific challenges for art, design and media students trying to complete work that requires our specialist facilities and staff expertise. I have asked the staff teams to contact you with some guidance about work that can be undertaken remotely this week. At this time, I think it is sensible for you to collect anything you need from the studios as soon as possible this week and work from home until I am able to provide further guidance about independent study on site.
Media Stores & Shop
This facility will not be available after today until further notice. You may be asked to return any items currently on loan. Once reinstated, subject teams will manage the loan of equipment in line with module outcomes and assessment needs.
The Art Shop will also be closed from tomorrow and we will look to managing shorter opening times for essential materials. You will be informed about this in due course.
Exams and assessments
The Wolverhampton School of Art teaches courses with a range of assessment tasks. We are looking at where we will need to use alternative forms of assessment which can be undertaken remotely and we will communicate these to you in the near future.
Wolverhampton School of Art had a full programme of events planned for the coming months including Artsfest and Degree Show. At the current time we are looking to postpone these events.
Placements / Work Experience
The Government advised yesterday that where people are able to work from home they should do so and your placement provider should be following this advice. If you are currently on placement and the company or organisation you are working for decides to close or deliver services remotely please inform your Faculty Student Services on the number below. Your learning outcomes will not be adversely affected by this.
