Internet Explorer Upgrade

Internet Explorer will be upgraded to Internet Explorer 10 on all University staff and student managed computers.

The deployment of Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) will be phased over a five-day period, scheduled to begin week commencing 19th January 2015.

  • Staff may be required to restart their computer a couple of times in order to receive IE10 along with further security updates.
  • Students - the machines will be ready the following day after installing the updates on the scheduled nightly shutdown.
Monday 19th January LIS, Finance, SLSSC, Registry Burton, City
Tuesday 20th January
SHaW, Arena, Business Solutions, Careers, Chaplaincy,
Counselling, ODoS, Staff VDI

Wednesday 21st January
Walsall, WSP
Thursday 22nd January SEF, WBS, Facilities, SEC VDI
Friday 23rd January FSE*, SAS, SSPAL, PSO, PSU  
*Deployment to be confirmed.

Areas across the University that are scheduled for QuestionMark (QMARK) exams will NOT be upgraded; they will remain on Internet Explorer 8 and therefore out of scope of this initial deployment.

Those areas hosting QMARK exams have been identified as:

  MI035 WN114
  MI133 WN115
  MI214 WP024
