University Systems

Like many large organisations we have a range of different systems for students to use for your learning, your personal/academic records and accessing University services.
e:Vision

You will have started your relationship with the University by applying for a course using e:Vision. This is also where you will keep you personal and academic records up-to-date. Please sign into e:Vision using this link. You can also access e:Vision from your myWLV app.

Canvas

Canvas is your Virtual Learning Environment or VLE for short. This is where you will find your central induction and welcome, WLVWelcome (you will need to have your University username and password to access this). You can log in at https://canvas.wlv.ac.uk Please do take a look at these simple guides to help you get to know Canvas.

Other systems you'll find in Canvas:

  • Panopto - Staff use Panopto to create video resources, for use within Canvas.
  • Folio - is a digital space where you can showcase and share your work.
Microsoft Teams

You will use Teams for your online learning, meetings, sharing files and for instant chat. You can sign in with your University email address and password. There is lots more useful guidance on the University Teams website or the Microsoft Teams support website. To access Teams, simply log into office.com.

Multifactor authentication (MFA)

MFA is an extra layer of security used by Microsoft to protect your University work and data. It sends a code or 'tap the app' message to your mobile phone. For more information visit Multifactor authentication.

Student Check In

This is the system we use as a digital register, so that you can keep your attendance record up-to-date and accurate.  It doesn't require any special equipment as the system is web-based and so is accessed by phone, tablet or laptop, via the MyWLV system. For more information visit Student Check In.

AppsAnywhere

This is the portal that we use to provide software available for students to use. You can access this portal from your own laptop or PC by opening a browser (tab) and going to https://appsanywhere.wlv.ac.uk or while using an on-campus PC. There is more about all the software available to students at wlv.ac.uk/software

SAMS

‌Allows you to book time with your lecturers, who will make their time available.  SAMS is accessible at all hours so you can find a time slot at any time of the day. Sign in with your University email addresss and password https://sams.wlv.ac.uk
