Entry requirements for students from Yemen

International Foundation Year

شهادة الثانوية العامة – General Secondary Education Certificate

Holders of the General Secondary Education Certificate with a score of 50 in every subject would be eligible for the International Foundation Year.

IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all components is also required.


الدبلوم العالي – Higher Diploma from a Community College

A higher diploma from a Community College with a score of 70% will be considered for entrance onto a Bachelor degree

 شهادة التعليم الفني – Certificate in Technical Education

A certificate in Technical Education with a score of 70% will be considered for entrance onto a bachelor degree

دبلوم الجامعات – Diploma from a University

A diploma from a University with a score of 63% or above will be considered for entrance onto a Bachelor degree

البكالوريوس – Bachelor degree

A bachelor degree with a score of 63% or above will be considered for entrance onto the third year of a Bachelor degree


الماجستير – Master’s degree

Master’s degrees from NARIC or government recognised institutions can normally be accepted for master’s studies:

A score of 78% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1

A score of 63% is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

A score of 48% is considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-masters course

English Language Requirements

English language requirements vary by course and department but the standard University requirement is 6.0 with 5.5 in every component in IELTS or the same scores in the University's own entry test, the Wolverhampton English Proficiency Examination (WEPE).
