The International Foundation Year is designed for international students who wish to study for a degree in their chosen Faculty at the University of Wolverhampton but don't have the right qualifications to move straight onto a degree course. It develops the skills you need for studying at degree level and provides the opportunity to experience University life, preparing you for the next level in your studies.
You can choose from one of four International Foundation Years, depending on your interests and the degree you would like to move on to. To find out what your chosen course involves, including information on entry requirements, fees and to apply, please select from the following:
Internatonal Foundation Year - Full-time (1 year study option)
BA (Hons) with International Foundation Year - Full-time (4 year study option)
The aim of this course is to allow successful candidates to progress onto a degree programme in their chosen subject at the University of Wolverhampton [or at another UK University which recognises the programme], subject to course and professional body requirements, which will serve to enhance their employment opportunities in the future. (Please seek advice from the Course Leader of your chosen degree course).
We are very pleased that most International Foundation Year students stay with us to continue onto their chosen degree programmes but should you wish to progress to another University we have a progression agreements with the following Universities provided you meet their conditions:
We are also very pleased to have a progression agreement with Brighton University for their Undergraduate Business courses only, subject to conditions which include WEPE/IELTS 6 overall with 6 in writing and minimum 5.5 in other areas.
We are also having ongoing discussions with several other institutions.
Why not take a look and see what our students have to say about the International Foundation Year course at the University of Wolverhampton's International Academy.
The Extended International Foundation Year in Science and Engineering, Social Sciences, Arts or Education, Health and Wellbeing provides you with access to a variety of degree programmes. It is suitable for students who have a level of English equivalent to 4.5 or 5.0 in IELTS.
You can complete the programme on a single CAS, spending one semester improving your English language skills before moving onto the regular International Foundation Year in semester two and three where you will develop your capabilities to study in your chosen subject.
(You can choose any degree from each Faculty with the exception of Pharmacy, Nursing, Social Work and Teaching and subject to professional body regulations and individual course entry requirements).
