Success for innovative HND Business students as they win Wolves Den 2018

The University of Wolverhampton Business School (UWBS) hosted an event for first year undergraduate students based on the Dragons’ Den concept called 'Wolves Den 2018'. Students from a range of courses including Business Management, Marketing & Events, Marketing Management and HND Business took part in the 2-day event. With support from the University of Wolverhampton's SPEED project and the Lecturer's in Marketing, students were able to receive real-life exposure and expertise to develop their ideas.

Lecturer in Marketing and HND Business course leader, Hajrija Dergic stated: "We were blown away by the tremendous talent of our students, to come up with a new business opportunity and prepare a presentation to a panel of judges, is a challenge, but to design such innovative and marketable products was beyond impressive. We are extremely excited by the talents of our students and will continue to work to nurture their creativity."

The teams successfully worked together to pitch their business ideas to the dragons, which made judging extremely difficult. The Business Management students scooped the Creativity Award with their 'Eco-Furnishings' product and HND Business students came up with the winning idea of 'Building Blocks' a resourceful and ingenious service for the homeless. The winning HND Business team have been awarded two-day fully-funded business development and skills workshop from SPEED, to support and inspire their business journey.
