Adobe Creative Cloud License Update

The way the licenses for Adobe Creative Cloud work is changing. The University of Wolverhampton will now be using the Adobe Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA), an annual subscription programme allowing us to run the entire Adobe Creative Cloud with both Device and Named User licensing.

Staff will be eligible for a Named User license, allowing them to install the software on up to two devices, one of which can be a personal device, as long as they are the primary user of both devices, that they are not used concurrently, and that installations on personal devices are solely for work use.

The University of Wolverhampton has purchased the Adobe Creative Cloud which contains the following products:

Acrobat DC Pro - After Effects CC - Audition CC - Dreamweaver CC - Edge Animate CC - Edge Code - Edge Inspect - Edge Reflow - Fireworks CS6 - Flash Builder - FlashPro CC - Illustrator CC - InCopy CC - InDesign CC - Lightroom CC - Muse CC - Photoshop CC - Prelude CC - Premiere Pro CC - Scout - SpeedGrade CC.

An additional benefit of Named User licenses is that they also enable access to the following products:

100GB Adobe Cloud Storage - Adobe Sign - Adobe Spark - Community - Device Preview - Edge Inspect - Extract - Fonts - PDF Services - PhoneGap Build - Photos - Publish Online - Share Online -Story Plus.

If you are on Windows 7, you will continue to use the applications available in Apps Anywhere.

If you are on Windows 10, you will find a new icon in Apps Anywhere (available by the end of October) which will give you access to the Adobe Creative Cloud.

If you have any issues accessing the Adobe Creative Cloud, please log an IT Service Desk call (x2000, itsupport@wlv.ac.uk).

Changes affecting students

Students can use the software on any device, owned or leased by the university, which is on university premises via a Device License. They will not be eligible for a Named User License.

Please note that students accessing the Adobe suite on a Mac will need to log in to the Creative Cloud (via the desktop icon) using their university credentials before they can access any of the Adobe products.

For devices in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Arts, the Adobe Creative Cloud is installed directly onto the devices. For all other student devices, the software will be available in Apps Anywhere by the end of October.
