Sikh Reflections

Dr Opinderjit Kaur Takhar, Director of the Centre for Sikh and Panjabi Studies, shared her thoughts recently on how the Sikh faith was helping communities cope during the current coronavirus crisis on BBC Sounds.

Now that lockdown restrictions are being eased, places of worship are due to open in phase 3 but will remain closed until at least July.

Sikh Reflections explores how faith inspires humanity to be resilient in the face of adversity.

Opinderjit said: "The current lockdown has given many of us the space to reflect on the big questions of life and in this reflective piece I talk about Sikh teaching and how selfless service is helping individuals and communities. This has been expressed during COVID-19 in the distribution of food across many communities across the globe.

"I also explore how the closure of Gurdwaras has affected communities."
