Results from the Covid-19 testing survey

In April, the University commissioned a rapid assessment survey on Covid-19 trends.

The survey was undertaken to better understand testing trends in staff and students, how often they were being tested, testing methods, and any potential barriers preventing individuals from engaging in a regular Covid-19 testing regime that can help detect Covid-19 and reduce the spread of the virus.

The information gathered through the survey showed a very positive response to the introduction of home testing, suggesting that uptake of testing would treble now that home testing has made testing kits more accessible.

The rapid assessment survey of testing behaviours amongst staff and students was carried out in conjunction with the City of Wolverhampton Council as part of the ongoing partnership between the local authority and the University. Amazon vouchers have been given out to 15 students who completed the survey and were select at random.

The insight gained from the survey will help shape future approaches to detect and reduce transmission of Covid-19 across University campus facilities, learning environments and halls of residence, and safeguarding the wellbeing of wider communities across the city.
