A University of Wolverhampton graduate has had a glittering start to his career after being recognised for his academic achievements by a leading law society.
Sam Lane completed the Legal Practice course (LPC) with the University this year and has already secured a role as a Newly Qualified Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors in Birmingham after successfully completing his training contract at a regional firm.
He was presented with the Birmingham Law Society’s Bronze Award at its recent AGM in recognition of his results and achievements at University.
Sam, from Blakeshall near Kinver, also won three Law School prizes at the University’s graduation ceremony in April.
The three prizes were: Best Part-Time Postgraduate Student on the LPC, Best Postgraduate Dissertation in Law and Best LPC student in Commercial Law.
The 24-year-old will be specialising in Property Litigation under Tim Rayner at Irwin Mitchell from 1 July 2019 within their Real Estate Team.
Sam said: “I am delighted to have received these academic prizes and had my hard work recognised. I can’t praise the University of Wolverhampton enough and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I hope that in the future I am able to assist the next generation of law graduates.”
Head of the University of Wolverhampton Law School, Sukhninder Panesar, said: “The Bronze Award presented to Sam demonstrates the high quality graduates that the Law School produces and is also testament to the hard work of all the staff teaching in the School. Winning this award in the region is also testament to the high quality legal education that the School offers for training lawyers of tomorrow. We are very proud of Sam's achievements.”
