National Student Survey... The results are in
The results of the National Student Survey (NSS) have been published we're pleased to say we have achieved some very positive results.
The NSS is an annual independent survey gathering the opinions of undergraduates who are in their final year. The survey asks questions on students' satisfaction with their course and various aspects of life here at university.
Feedback given via the NSS is really important to the university as it helps us to understand what is important to students, where we're doing well and what we need to strengthen.
The scores below are the overall satisfaction ratings for each theme:
- Teaching on my course - 85.6% (above sector)
- Learning opportunities - 82.9% (above sector)
- Assessment and feedback - 81.8% (above sector)
- Academic support - 79.9%
- Organisation and management - 70%
- Learning resources - 84.9%
- Student voice - 74.5% (above sector)
We are particularly pleased with the four themes that are 'above sector' as we’ve scored higher than the average score across all the participating institutions.
At subject level, we're performing well across a number of courses - with Business and Management, Education and Teaching, Law, English, and Sports & Exercise achieving impressive positivity ratings across all core themes.
Special mention also goes to Fire and Rescue, History, Public Health, and Football Coaching & Performance which all achieve a satisfaction score of 100% in at least one of the 7 themes.
We’d like to give a big shout out to all the teaching and support staff who’ve worked hard to make the learning experience for all our students a great one, and are so dedicated to making sure you are happy, supported, and primed to succeed. We always value student feedback, whether it’s through surveys like the NSS or any other feedback channel within the University or Students’ Union. Over the coming weeks will continue to scrutinize the data and determine areas for enhancement, to ensure we continual to improve your student experience.
Thank you to everyone who has taken part.
