Legal eagles bake up a treat
Legal eagles at the University of Wolverhampton have been cooking up a storm to raise funds.
Students and staff from the University of Wolverhampton Law School took part in The Great Legal Bake sale on Wednesday, 27 February 2019.
Students held two bake sales in the Lord Swraj Paul Building and Millennium City Building and also raffled a cake.
They raised £135 for the Midland Legal Support Trust, which will the benefit the University’s Legal Advice Centre in the Mander Centre.
Beverley Rizzotto, Legal Advice Centre Manager, said: “The grand prize draw has been made for the fantastic cake raffle and congratulations go to Emma Kent in Student Support who was the winner of the cake, which was kindly donated to us by the mother of 1st year LLB student Laura Sharkey, who has her own business Jewel’s Cakes, based in Wolverhampton.
“Well done to Student Law Society events’ organisers Natassia Smith and Paige Baker, who are also 3rd year LLB students, for their hard work on this event.”
The Midland Legal Support Trust (MLST) is a grant-making charity, formed in 2010 to raise and distribute funds to organisations providing free legal advice services in the Midland region of England.
