Law careers fair hailed a success
Students hoping to pursue a career in the legal profession attended a successful law fair at the University of Wolverhampton.
More than 100 students attended the event which aimed to showcase job opportunities and enhance students’ employability through advice about interviews and CVs.
Around 20 external organisations including the Bar Council, Law Firms and other legal employers attended the event in the Harrison Library at the University.
The keynote speakers were Sunil Kler, Associate Solicitor from Keoghs Solicitors and Carl Mconie Team Leader AM City Grad.
Sukhninder Panesar, Head of the University of Wolverhampton Law School, said: "The Law School has a very strong commitment to employability which is enhanced by events such as this Law Careers Fair as well as employability embedded into its new curriculum which provides legal education and training for tomorrow’s lawyers.
“Events such as the Law Careers Fair are a vital part of the Law School’s employability strategy which is embedded into the curriculum. Offering students the opportunity to engage with local and regional firms and demonstrate the talent available to employers.
“This year’s fair saw two key guest speakers offering important advice on the effective drafting of CVs for employment in the legal profession and how to succeed at interview and at an assessment centre. In addition, we are pleased to see that one of our second year students has secured a two week experience at Middle Temple Inn in London.”
