We know exams can be challenging, but with the right support and adjustments, you can focus on doing your best.

Exam Support & Reasonable Adjustments

If you require exam support because of a disability, specific learning difficulty, or a short- or long-term health condition, please contact the Access Disability & Inclusion team as early as possible, before your exams. To help the team understand your requirements and provide appropriate support, you will be asked to complete the Self-Declaration Form (SDF) through your e:Vision account.

Key Deadlines for 2025/6 Exam Adjustments:

Exam Period Deadline to Apply
Semester One Monday 10 November 2025
Semester Two Friday 27 February 2026
Resits Friday 15 May 2026
Exams outside main weeks 4 weeks in advance

For semester-based modules, deadlines are set halfway through the semester.

Adjustments agreed close to examination periods cannot be guaranteed. Students are therefore expected to contact the Access Disability & Inclusion team at the earliest opportunity to allow sufficient time for appropriate arrangements to be made. While every effort will be taken to accommodate late requests, it may not always be possible to implement adjustments at short notice.

What Adjustments Are Available?

Reasonable adjustments may include:

Accessible exam rooms
Separate seating with an invigilator
Extra time or rest breaks
Considerate marking
Use of a PC, scribe, or reader
Large print or color-printed exam papers

Already Approved for Support?

If you have been allocated a scribe or reader, the Disability & Inclusion team will email you about two weeks before the exam period to confirm you still require this support. If you do not receive this email, please contact your advisor.

Late or Temporary Requests

If you need last-minute adjustments or temporary support, contact Access Disability & Inclusion urgently. While every effort will be made, adjustments cannot be guaranteed after deadlines.

No Longer Need Support?

If you no longer require adjustments, notify specialexams@wlv.ac.uk ASAP. If you don’t, there may not be space for you in the main exam venue.
