2025/6 Academic Year: Main Exam Periods

Q: What are the main exam periods for the 2025/6 academic year?
A: The main exam periods are as follows:

Semester One:

  • 6–12 January 2026

Semester Two & Year-Long Modules:

  • 5–18 May 2026

Semester Three:

  • 10–21 August 2026 (dates to be confirmed)

Resit Periods:

  • Semester One resits: Expected to take place during the May 2026 exam period.

  • Semester Two & Year-Long resits: Scheduled for 6–10 July 2026. If required due to high numbers, additional resits may be held on 12–13 July 2026.

Non-Standard Assessments (INYR, CRYRA, PSRB, and others):

  • Examinations may be scheduled during teaching weeks. Module Leaders will confirm dates, which will be published on Canvas.

Additional Notes:

  • A provisional second assessment week for Semester One is scheduled for 12–16 January 2026.

  • An additional third week may be used during the May 2026 examination period if necessary.

A: Yes, some PSRB (Professional, Statutory, Regulatory Body) courses, such as Nursing, Pharmacy, and Law, may have exams at different times throughout the year. If you're enrolled in any such courses, please check with your Module Leader for exact dates.

A: All students are expected to be available during university teaching and assessment weeks. Applications for mitigation to defer exams due to personal events, such as holidays or weddings, will not be accepted.
