FD (Science) Sports Coaching Practice

The Foundation Degree Sports Coaching Practice combines sports coaching with pedagogy and knowledge of natural sciences to produce a holistic approach to coaching. Staff on the programme have a wide range of coaching experience through working in areas such as football, hockey and multi-skills events. Birmingham Metropolitan College have many links with external partners, providing you with opportunities to participate in a number of events run in collaboration with local primary schools and CIC partnerships.

The breadth of this course opens up a wide range of employment opportunities in areas such as coaching in professional sport, performance analysis, strength & conditioning coaching, community coaching, sports development, teaching/lecturing, police and military officers, etc.

The course is also designed to help you progress onto further study. After successful completion of the course, you can progress onto the final year of the BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching Practice degree at the University of Wolverhampton.

Throughout the degree students will develop a broad range of key skills. Students who progress to the BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching Practice at the University of Wolverhampton will be well prepared to gain their Wolverhampton Enterprise and Employability Award.
