What our Students say

If you’re going through the Clearing process, you’re not alone.

Thousands of students go through Clearing every year to find a place on a suitable course – and you could be one of them!
Our What is Clearing and How to survive Clearing guides will give you more information, helping to make the process as simple as possible.

But don’t just take our word for it! We spoke to some of our students who went through Clearing to see what they made of it – here’s some feedback on their experiences…

BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism

“If I want others to take anything from my story, it’s that even when things don’t go your way and it looks like nothing good is coming, pick yourself up and keep going until you get where you want to be.

“UCAS Clearing has literally kept my aspirations of becoming a sports’ journalist on track and living and studying in Wolverhampton makes it much better. So be prepared for your results to not go the way you want because applying for Clearing might actually land you in a much better place.”

Leonnie Wyman

LLB (Hons) Law

“Due to my circumstances at the time, Clearing was the only option available to me. I had already done two years at a different university and felt that it wasn’t right for me. I didn’t want to wait another year to apply.

“The experience of Clearing surprised me. I expected it to be a long-winded process but it was quite quick. It was done within an hour, and I had my offer.

“I was in direct communication with the Head of Law, and had all the information I needed to make a decision. He really made me feel at ease with my situation.”

Cat Untaru

BA (Hons) Drama

“I think that going through Clearing was really easy compared to what I imagined it would be. Making that initial phone call wasn’t easy and I guess it wouldn’t be for anyone who was a bit nervous, but once I phoned everyone was lovely.

“To anyone considering going through Clearing, I would say don’t be scared, and remember that Clearing is not a lifeline, it’s a helping hand. It’s something that is offered to you, and if you decide to take it or not is your decision, but it’s there to help you and there’s nothing wrong or scary or something to be ashamed of, just go for it and follow your dreams.”
