In September 2011, the School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure opened The Performance Hub, its landmark building for performing arts at Walsall Campus on Gorway Road and sister venue to the Arena Theatre. The Performance Hub is the perfect place to create, rehearse and perform shows and to host meetings and events.
The Performance Hub has a number of rooms that can be used to host meetings and conferences.
The Black Box Theatre has seating for up to 108 delegates and a number of breakout rooms around the building can be used for workshops, seminars and presentations.
As well as several rehearsal rooms, The Performance Hub has recording facilities, with two computer suites equipped with iMacs running Protools, Logic, Cubase and Sibelius software and two recording studios with analogue and digital recording equipment. The university is proud to be an All Steinway School and home to 17 Steinway pianos.
The Performance Hub has a range of rehearsal studios of different sizes for drama, with the Black Box Theatre available for performances. For critical analysis of Drama performances, there is a range of data projectors, televisions, video recorders, DV cameras and DVD players.
The Performance Hub has dance studios with sprung and semi-sprung floors and offers state-of-the-art recording and playback facilities, virtual daylight and air-conditioning.
