Graduation Ceremonies

Graduation Ceremonies for the University of Wolverhampton take place in Spring and September at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.

Upcoming Ceremonies

April 2019

Graduation ceremonies will take place on Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April 2019 for Postgraduate students and students from the Institute of Health who have been conferred with an award by Friday 1st March. Invitations will soon open via the graduation page on e:Vision.

Wednesday 17th April 2019


Postgraduate students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Arts. Students on Physician Associates Studies course.

Wednesday 17th April 2019


Postgraduate students from the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing and both undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Institute of Health except students on the following courses; Master of Adult Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, and Foundation Degree Nursing Associate.

Thursday 18th April 2019 


Students who completed in Autumn 2018 with Master of Adult Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing in Adult Nursing, Children's Nursing, Learning Disability Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery.

Thursday 18th April 2019 


Students who complete in January 2019 with Bachelor of Nursing in Adult Nursing, Children's Nursing, Mental Health Nursing. Students on Foundation Degree Nursing Associate courses.

Under no circumstances should you contact the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre directly about these ceremonies.

September 2019

Graduation ceremonies will take place between Thursday 12th - Friday 20th September 2019 for all students.


Apply to Attend

How to Apply

Students who are eligible to attend our next graduation ceremony can now apply via the graduation page on e:Vision. Applications will close at 9am on Monday 11th March and late applications will not be accepted.

Guest tickets

Guest tickets will be charged at £15 per person.

Guest Tickets will go on sale at 12pm on Monday 11th March 2019. Initially students will be able to purchase at least 2 tickets. Subject to availability more tickets will be released at 12pm on Monday 18th March on a first come first served basis. Ticket sales will close at 9am on Monday 25th March.

A limited number of tickets may be available to purchase on the day of your ceremony from the Grand Theatre when you register.

All guest tickets must be purchased via the graduation page of e:Vision.

Graduation is a ceremonial occasion which young children can find tedious. In the interest of other patrons children under 5 years of age will not be admitted to the theatre auditorium.


Academic Robes

All graduates must wear smart attire to their ceremony.  Students not wearing the correct academic gown will not be presented for their award.

Students should order their gown from Ede and Ravenscroft.

Gowns must be collected and returned on the day of your ceremony from the 4th floor of the MC Building City Campus.

Portrait and Presentation Photos


The University's official photographer offers portrait and presentation photography services at graduation. Visit H Tempest's website for more information.

Presentation photos

Digital photos are taken of each finalist as they are presented with their award. These can be purchased immediately after the ceremony.

You can also view and purchase your graduation portraits online. Just visit Tempest Photography.

Please use the University's Official Appointed Graduation Photography Service

The University has appointed Tempest Photography as its official Graduation Photography service. Please be aware that other photographers may approach you. They may even try to persuade you that they are official. They are not. Should any other supplier approach you offering photography services, please understand that they do so without the approval, authorisation or consent of your University and and the standards of the service they offer cannot be assured. Any commission the University obtains through its contract with Tempest Photography is re-invested into enhancing the student experience. If you choose to take up their alternative service, you risk using a supplier with;

  • no permission to use the University crest
  • No foil-blocking on mounts
  • Limited product range
  • Poor after-sales service
  • Flawed studio set-up
  • Negligible or no industry qualifications
  • Inferior equipment, paper and mounts
  • Environmentally unsound processes

Travel Guidance

University of Wolverhampton graduation ceremonies are held at the Grand Theatre.

The Grand Theatre is located: Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1DE. Take a look at our Interactive map.

If travelling by bus or train you will find that the Grand Theatre is walking distance from both stations. Bus routes can be found via the National Express and Train routes can be found via National Rail Enquiries.
