Graduation Ceremonies

Graduation Ceremonies for the University of Wolverhampton take place in Spring and September at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.

September 2018

Graduation ceremonies for all students will take place at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton between Thursday 13th - Friday 21st September.

Please note due to an unprecedented number of applications for the Institute of Education (3) ceremony at 1.30pm on Friday 14th September students graduating from the following courses will now attend the Institute of Education (2) ceremony at 5pm on Friday 14th September.  The Unversity of Wolverhampton apologises for any inconvenience this might cause.

Apply to Attend

Celebrate your achievements with family and friends at a University of Wolverhampton graduation ceremony.

How to Apply

Students can now apply to attend their September graduation ceremony via the graduation page on e:Vision. Applications to attend graduation will close at 9am on Wednesday 8 August 2018 and late applications will not be considered.
 
  

Guest tickets

Guest tickets will be charged at £15 per person. Guest tickets will go on sale at 12pm on Wednesday 8 August 2018 and all graduates will be reserved at least 2 tickets (additional tickets may be available depending on attendance) which must be purchased by 9am on Wednesday 15 August 2018. Any remaining tickets (subject to availability) will be released at 12pm on Wednesday 15 August 2018 and tickets sales will close 9am on Wednesday 22 August 2018.

A limited number of tickets may be available to purchase on the day of your ceremony, from the Grand Theatre box office.

All guest tickets must be purchased via the graduation page of e:Vision.

Graduation is a ceremonial occasion which young children can find tedious. In the interest of other patrons children under 8 years of age will not be admitted to the theatre auditorium.

Students with a UK address will have their guest tickets posted to them. Students with an overseas address must collect their tickets from the Grand Theatre on the day of their ceremony. Tickets will be allocated together, even if purchases were made on different dates.

Academic Robes

All graduates must wear smart attire to their ceremony.  Students not wearing the correct academic gown will not be presented for their award.

Students should order their gown from Ede and Ravenscroft.

Gowns must be collected and returned on the day of your ceremony from the 4th floor of the MC Building City Campus.

Portrait and Presentation Photos

Photography

The University's official photographer offers portrait and presentation photography services at graduation. Visit H Tempest's website for more information.

Presentation photos

Digital photos are taken of each finalist as they are presented with their award. These can be purchased immediately after the ceremony from the Harrison Learning Centre, Ambika Paul Building, City Campus.

You can also view and purchase your graduation portraits online. Just visit Tempest Photography.

Please use the University's Official Appointed Graduation Photography Service

The University has appointed Tempest Photography as its official Graduation Photography service. Please be aware that other photographers may approach you. They may even try to persuade you that they are official. They are not. Should any other supplier approach you offering photography services, please understand that they do so without the approval, authorisation or consent of your University and and the standards of the service they offer cannot be assured. Any commission the University obtains through its contract with Tempest Photography is re-invested into enhancing the student experience. If you choose to take up their alternative service, you risk using a supplier with;

  • no permission to use the University crest
  • No foil-blocking on mounts
  • Limited product range
  • Poor after-sales service
  • Flawed studio set-up
  • Negligible or no industry qualifications
  • Inferior equipment, paper and mounts
  • Environmentally unsound processes

Travel Guidance

University of Wolverhampton graduation ceremonies are held at the Grand Theatre.

The Grand Theatre is located: Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1DE. Take a look at our Interactive map.

If travelling by bus or train you will find that the Grand Theatre is walking distance from both stations. Bus routes can be found via the National Express and Train routes can be found via National Rail Enquiries.
