Overall, my time at the University was and has been productive. It built on my experience in Nigeria, and provided me with skills for my current engagements and future aspirations.

The scholarship opportunity to study MPH at the University of Wolverhampton was a perfect match for my interests as it covered my academic and financial needs towards an aspiration of a career in health promotion and policy. Studying at the University of Wolverhampton was a different experience from my previous mode of learning. I was glad to have received guidance from the faculty members at the University and helpful information at the student services. The support offered by the staff at the library and career services were beneficial towards my academic learning and preparing for the next steps.
During my time at the University I was introduced to concepts and frameworks around health promotion and policy. The classes on policy analysis were useful for my thesis which was a policy research on a Nigerian policy. These skills were important during my internship at the WHO, Geneva, where I contributed to a qualitative research focusing on policies of the 194 member states around physical activity. The University of Wolverhampton’s module on Epidemiology and Statistics were very useful in my understanding of numbers while dealing with the WHO data. While in my previous role focused on research and policy analysis, I currently work as a consultant in a health promotion campaign. In this role, I am coordinating a global campaign leveraging on my health promotion skills developed and advanced during my time at the University. Overall, my time at the University was and has been productive. It built on my experience in Nigeria, provided me with skills for my current engagements and future aspirations for PhD and career in health promotion and policy.
