Simon is a Master Glass Blower and has worked with glass for twenty five years, starting his apprenticeship at Michael Harris' Isle of Wight Studio Glass. He has made glass for studio's in the Shetland Island's and in Malta and has been involved in glassmaking schools in the Czech Republic and the United States of America. Simon has been a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton and the University of Sunderland where he also worked as Hot Glass Technician. He has worked with many internationally renowned studio glass artists and also with lead crystal glass factories. Simon has exhibited internationally, has been selected for two British Glass Biennale's and has work in the Broadfield House Glass Museum (Kingswinford), State Chateau Lemberk (Czech Rep.) and Northlands Creative Glass (Caithness) collections.

The most current body of work that Simon has been producing uses the ancient technique of murrine found in Egyptian and Roman glass but follows in the footsteps of the late Venitian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa and is influenced by the techniques of American artist Richard Marquis.
