Lynda studied her BSc (Hons) Biological Science degree at the University of Wolverhampton and graduated in 2000. After a brief period of employment in the civil service, Lynda was employed at the University in the role of Demonstrator in September 2000. 

Lynda’s responsibilities range from academic to pastoral duties.  These include teaching in all aspects of Biological Sciences, from microbiology both general and clinical to animal behaviour and wildlife conservation. 

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Lynda part of a demonstrating team that supports all levels of students in the faculty throughout their studies.  This includes personal tutoring, ‘drop in’ sessions and academic counselling.

In 2011, Lynda won in the category of ‘Unsung Hero’ in The Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Staff Excellence and was described as ‘a dedicated and long-standing member of staff, tirelessly helping students and staff members’ alike whether their problems are personal or professional…’ More recently, `Lynda was nominated in the Students’ Union Teaching Awards in 3 categories.

  • The Initial Growth of Dendryphiella salina and Dendryphiella arenaria in a Marine Environment.
  • The susceptibility of Clinical strains of Acinetobacter baumannii and Staphylococcus aureus using Cinnamomum zeylancium, Cinnamomum verum and their active ingredients.
