On Thursday 21 November 2013, Stacey-Ann Murrell and Hayden Mellowship (both 3rd year LLB students) took part in a mooting competition organised by the NSLS (National Student Law Society) against the University of Derby. They were victorious and went through to the second round of the competition. They now sit second on the national leader board. Round 2 will take place on Wednesday 11 December at 1pm against the University of Reading.
Further congratulations to Hayden and Stacey-Ann who also won their moot against the University of Reading on the 11 of December. They will now proceed to the third round which will take place in January.
On Saturday 23 November the University of Wolverhampton’s mediation team took part in the National Mediation Competition, held at Kingston University. The team is made up of Natalia Hill, Hayden Mellowship, Adam Fielon and Paul Taylor (all 3rd year LLB students). There were 12 teams that took part and four made it through to the final, which will be held on 24/25th January, at Queens University in Belfast.
Congratulations once again to the Wolverhampton Moot Team who have won the Spirit of the NSLS (National Student Law Society) Award for outstanding performance throughout all rounds of the competition, finishing 3rd out of 64 teams.
The Moot Final will be held at the Supreme Court on Wednesday 16 April 2014 and will involve a presentation of a trophy and a tour of the Supreme Court for our team.
