The Trade Union Bill 2015 builds on already restrictive employment legislation to further restrict the freedom to strike and picket. There has been a series of public talks and demonstrations against the Bill in the last couple of weeks and these will continue over the coming weeks.
Dr.Whyeda Gill-Mclure, Senior Lecturer in the Business School was invited by Unite the Union, as academic expert on industrial relations, to speak at a public meeting in Bromsgrove on 29 October 2015 . She was asked to give an overview of the historical context of industrial relations and trajectory of labour rights.
