She has a doctorate degree in Organization Theory/Management from Bogazici University. She has been a visiting scholar at different universities such as Southampton University, Dauphine University, Panthéon Sorbonne University, Louis Pasteur University and Manchester University. Her publications which focus on business elites, top management teams, governance, business-state relations and corporate social performance have been published in peer reviewed journals such as British Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Group and Organization Management, European Management Journal, European Journal of International Management, among others. In 2007, she received Emerald LiteratiNetwork award for her work on Turkish business elites.
She is associate editor of the European Management Review (EMR) and YAD and editorial board member of the Society and Business Review and YOAD. She has co-edited special issues on Top Management Teams and Corporate Social Responsibility in different peer reviewed journals.
She is also actively involved in international academic institutions. As country liaison, she is a member of the Academy of Management (AOM), Management Education and Development Division (MED) since 1999, where she previously acted as International Membership Coordinator and Division Research Coordinator. She co-founded Top Management Teams and Business Elites Track at the European Academy of Management (EURAM) where she also served as Corporate Governance Strategic Interest Group Chair and organised its 2013 Annual Conference in Istanbul. She is actually the President of EURAM.
Her research interest includes areas like top management teams and business elites, corporate social responsibility, corporate political activity, business-state relations, corporate governance.

CSR consultancy and training to companies operating in Turkey.
