David Canter - Emeritus Professor at The University of Liverpool

Where Architectural Psychology Went Wrong and the Way Forward

David organised the first Architectural Psychology conference in 1969. For a decade or so after this the field flourished, but it faded into insignificance, being overtaken by ‘green’ Environmental Psychology. The reasons for this provide lessons for the reawakening of studies of psychological aspects of the Built Environment which this Wolverhampton conference is bringing back to life. Using his many years of research in the area David illustrates the excitement and challenge of this area of study and practice.
