Theoretical physicist working on light-matter interactions, particularly at the few-particle level and in materials boosting their coupling so as to power future technologies. Actively seeking one route towards working and useful quantum computers based on "molecules of light and matter", known as polaritons. Made significant contributions to the quantum theory of polariton lasers, Bose condensation, superfluidity and superconductivity of exciton-polaritons. Designed a new source of quantum light: the bundler, that replaces the fundamental brick of light, the photon, by a group (or bundle) of a tunable integer number of them. Co-author of an authoritative textbook in the field, "Microcavities". Considerable research experience throughout Europe, starting as a PhD of Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, 2005, then research associate at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom), 2006, at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), 2007, at the University of Southampton (UK), 2008-2009, Marie Curie fellow at the Walter Schottky Institut of the Technische Universität München, Germany, 2010-2012, and Ramón y Cajal fellow at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), 2012-2016, before joining the University of Wolverhampton in 2017 as Director of Studies for Physics. Recipient of several Research grants, including Marie Curie IEF (both as fellow and scientist in charge) and Principal Investigator of a node in an ERC starting grant. Directed 3 defended Ph. D theses (1 in progress) and supervised countless young researchers. Passionate about teaching at the University level to continuously rediscover and study with younger generations and scientists of tomorrow the bases of Physics. Main mission is to advance knowledge. Hobbies include chess, going everywhere and collecting collections.
