Charlene graduated from Keele University in 2010 with a first class (Hons) degree in Chemistry and Forensic Science (BSc). She then trained as a Mass Spectrometrist at the EPSRC funded National Mass Spectrometry Facility located in Swansea University. She also has commercial experience from her role as Marketing Projects Coordinator with the speciality chemical distributor Lake Chemicals and Minerals Ltd. Charlene joined the University of Wolverhampton in September 2012 as a Senior Laboratory Technician, this role involved technical support of Forensic Science practical lessons as well as operating a Scanning Electron Microscope and Particle Sizer. She became a Teaching Associate in Chemistry in March 2014 and gained the Post Graduate Certificate for Academic Practice in 2015. Charlene continues to contribute to the practical teaching of chemistry, organisation of experiments and delivery of outreach.
Charlene hopes to contribute to analytical chemistry research in the future.
Charlene is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and a member of the Analytical Science Network. She has been an organiser of the annual conference Emerging Analytical Professionals since 2011 and chaired the 2015 weekend event. "
