I am a Senior Lecturer in Post Compulsory Education at University of Wolverhampton. I teach on the full time PGCE PCE course and I am a module leader. In addition, I am joint Award Leader for the part-time Certificate in education/Prof Grad course that is delivered, in partnership with the university, at 8 partner institutions. I am the university link tutor to City of Wolverhampton College. Prior to beginning my rpole here at the university in 2015 I taught for 20 years in FE in the role as a Teaching and Learning Coach and Teacher Educator. Alongside this role I have worked for the Institute for Learning, later the Educational Training Foundation. My special interest is improving the experience of students through supporting and educating teachers to engage with student centred approaches and innovative activities. I am very interested in the opportunities within HE to include transition courses, such as the leap programmes already offered, and how this provision could be expanded across the faculty. The ‘Train the Trainer’ programmes are also a special interest to me and I hope to be more involved with this curriculum development in the near future.
