I am an experienced midwifery teacher with a background in neonatal intensive care nursing at a senior level. I work closely with colleagues to teach, support and assess midwifery students on the long and shortened programmes. I am the short course co-ordinator and run modules in the third year of the course, namely the dissertation module and the critical care module. Additionally, in conjunction with Dudley Group of Hospitals I run the very successful Tongue Tie management course. I also run two post qualifying modules in Newborn Examination.

I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate. My research is ‘ On uncertain ground: Grandmothers on the neonatal intensive care unit’.

Membership of professional bodies

I have reviewed papers and book proposals for a variety of publishers.
