Through extensive experience of teaching both within University and clinical environments, plus many years of being a volunteer for the British Red Cross, l have recognised the importance of high quality skills teaching within the relevant nursing curricula. This experience has also given me much interest and expertise of managing relevant modules and skills laboratories including the use of simulation with both high and low fidelity resources. The three dissertations completed have all been related to skill learning/ retention and practice.

I am also keen to promote Nursing theory, from the student commencing their career to those about to qualify as a registered nurse including the more experienced nurse, as this is the foundation and identification of the nursing profession.

Through my voluntary work with the Red Cross l have an interest and experience in First Aid, Emergency Response and Community Resilience.
