This module will provide the clinician working in any urgent, first contact or emergency care setting with the skills and knowledge required to deliver effective and evidence based care to infants and children of all ages presenting to such environments with a variety of injuries or illness. It is therefore suitable for nurses and Allied Health Professionals working in urgent care centres, primary care and walk in centres, minor injury units, in emergency departments or in the pre-hospital environment.
Applicants need to meet the following entry criteria:
Registered health professional: for example, NMC registered nurse, HCPC registered paramedic
Working in an emergency/urgent care setting: for example, accident and emergency, minor injuries , urgent care centre, ambulance service
Minimum of 12 months experience of working in an emergency care setting.
