The School of Media provides a lively and dynamic environment to hone your craft whether it be animation, video production, PR, film and media studies and broadcast journalism.

With opportunities to collaborate with and learn from your peers and leading academics. Our courses cater for the full breadth of disciplines and angles of approach in the sphere of media.

  • Dedicated media production studios, industry-standard software, motion capture suite, purpose-built media suite, TV studios and a sound-booth with full recording capabilities.
  • Great facilities including: two fully- equipped television and radio studios, newsroom, HD cameras and editing suites.
  • Dedicated Animation, Games and Motion Capture studios that help foster a strong community spirit amongst learners. This is a key School of Media philosophy that is vital in helping students express creative ideas and get their voices heard in the media.
  • Strong links with an iconic working cinema. Film and Television Studies is one of the only courses of its kind to hold all its classes in a working cinema - the Light House Media Centre.
  • Accreditation by Skillset is pending for Film and TV Production and Animation.
  • BJTC-accredited Journalism course .
  • Courses taught by media professionals  and well-known journalists.
  • Student trips in journalism to, for example, the BBC, Aljazeera, Express & Star, London, Media City, Salford.
