International event explores excellence in higher education

An international conference focused on the challenges facing the higher education sector is to be hosted by the University of Wolverhampton.

The Higher Education Institutional Research (HEIR) annual conference will take place on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September 2019.

The event in the Lord Swraj Paul Building in Wolverhampton will bring together people working in higher education institutions in the UK, Ireland and internationally.

This year's theme will focus on measuring excellence in higher education, and will include keynote speeches and workshops on a range of issues facing the sector.

Professor Phil Gravestock and Professor Sarah Hayes from the University of Wolverhampton are the HEIR2019 Chairs.

Phil said: "We are delighted to be hosting the 12th annual HEIR conference at the University of Wolverhampton.

"We are looking forward to lively debates, challenges and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

"The HEIR conference brings together a community of international higher education professionals with an interest in using or providing information and analysis to inform institutional planning, policy formation and decision-making. Their roles encompass institutional data and research that is used to inform decision-making in the areas of strategic planning, teaching and learning, quality, institutional performance and institutional effectiveness."
