Julia, from Solihull, said: “When I found out about the job I was so happy – words can’t describe just how excited I am to start. To gain a role at such a prestigious company is amazing.

“I applied to all the top four accounting firms and was given interviews at three of them. This has all been down to the help and guidance of the University lecturers and the Institute of Directors mentoring scheme, which partnered me with a mentor to help me with CV and interview skills specific to the role I was applying for.

“The opportunities at the University are endless and there are a lot of events, schemes and facilities to guide you on securing a job after graduation.  I am unbelievably grateful to all the staff at the University, I couldn’t have done it without them.”

Dr Jenni Jones, Associate Professor in Coaching and Mentoring within the University of Wolverhampton Business School, said: “We are all incredibly proud of Julia for securing this role and all of her achievements.

“It is also testament to the invaluable support offered to our students through the Institute of Directors mentoring scheme.”

The Institute of Directors Student Mentoring scheme aims to link up business students with leading figures from the region who act as mentors to support students in finding the job of their dreams in their final year. Students are able to seek advice and encouragement from a Senior Manager, Director or Chief Executive who communicates regularly with them during their final year.
