Life-enhancing research by experts at the University of Wolverhampton has been showcased at a prestigious event at the House of Lords in London.

Professor Geoff Layer, Vice-Chancellor, said: “Our research is transforming people’s lives and the world we live in today.

“We have experts seeking to find a use for waste plastic, investigating ways to protect people’s data from cyber attacks and working at the cutting edge of cancer treatment. Just this week, our mathematicians were ranked number one in the world in the renowned Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for research impact in the area of cybermetrics. Our research is world-leading and life-enhancing, and has the power to make a real difference to our communities and the world around us.

“The House of Lords event provided a great occasion to celebrate the amazing and diverse research that is taking place at the University of Wolverhampton every day.”

This was the sixth time the University of Wolverhampton has hosted an event at the House of Lords, with last year’s event celebrating degree apprenticeships and lifelong learning.
