Open Day at University Technical College

24/01/2018

Prospective pupils and their families are invited to an Open Day at West Midlands University Technical College in Wolverhampton this weekend.

The new Wolverhampton school offers an innovative education for pupils aged 14-18, combining traditional academic qualifications with professional and technical skills focusing on innovation, design and building.

Visitors will be able to tour the new facilities, meet staff and students and speak to the senior team about the unique opportunities available to pupils.

The school’s approach to learning in partnership with employers sees pupils using a hi-tech robot for programming, building a smart home from scratch and working on live design briefs for companies.

Principal, Av Gill, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming potential pupils and their families and showing them our exceptional new facilities, as well as giving them a feel for our unique approach to education.

“We’re very proud of what’s on offer at the UTC; we’re a school with a difference. Pupils have access to the very latest technology and hi-tech learning environments which inspires them and supports their future careers.”

The school, which is partnered by the University of Wolverhampton and Construction Industry Training Board, opened in 2016. It is currently recruiting from across the West Midlands for Years 10 and 12 for September 2018.

The Open Day will be held on Saturday January 27 from 10am-3pm at the West Midlands University Technical College, Springfield Campus, Cambridge Street, Wolverhampton, WV10 0JR.
