University hosts 12th Annual Justice Service event

Legal representatives and high profile dignitaries will process through the city centre as part of the University of Wolverhampton’s Annual Justice Service event being held later this month.

The event will be attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Geoff Layer, the High Sheriff of the West Midlands, Mr Jonnie TurpieMBE as well as  High Court Judges, the High Sheriff, Circuit judges, solicitors, barristers, magistrates, probation officers, police, Mayors, civic and ecclesiastical leaders together with representatives from the University.

Uniformed students and law students are encouraged to attend and engage with potential future employers.

This is the 12th Annual Justice Service hosted by the University. The event will be held at the Collegiate Church of St Peter in St Peter’s Square, and is organised by the School of Law.

A procession led by the university mace bearer moves across from the University before the service, which begins at 11am.

Mr Miceál Barden, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences said: “The annual Justice Service has become an important event in the civic life of the city and is always very well attended. It is an opportunity for the city to honour the work of all those serving and upholding justice in the region.”

The service will be held on Sunday 13th March 2016, followed by a special lunch for guests at the University.
